Dare to Care was created out of our passion to love and serve the people in our community.
We schedule strategic, local service opportunities throughout the year.

Care package delivery

What: Join us in creating and delivering care packages to 75 of our residential neighbors at LifeCare Center of Aurora. This facility provides assisted living care to senior adults with medical needs.

This project is FAMILY FRIENDLY!

Where: We will meet in the Chapel at 8:30 am on Saturday, Oct 2nd for an orientation and prayer before heading out to site projects. Projects will run from approximately 9am – 12pm.

Bring: All items will be provided 

Landscaping

What: We will be partnering with Aurora Parks and Rec to do landscaping at Utah Park. 
Activities will include: reseeding along the walking paths, mulching around trees, weeding and other grounds work.

This project is FAMILY FRIENDLY!

Where: We will meet in the Chapel at 8:30 am on Saturday, Oct 2nd for an orientation and prayer before heading out to site projects. Projects will run from approximately 9am – 12pm.

Bring: gloves, wear clothing suitable for outdoor work and sunscreen.

Donation sorting

What: The International Rescue Committee of Denver supports refugee families seeking asylum in the Denver Metro area. With the current influx of Afghan families to Aurora, we will partner with IRC Denver by bringing needed items for donation and helping them sort goods at their facility.

This project is FAMILY FRIENDLY!

Where:  We will meet in the Chapel at 8:30 am on Saturday, Oct 2nd for an orientation and prayer before heading out to site projects. Projects will run from approximately 9am – 12pm.

Bring: Please reference the Donation Needs form to see the list of needed items you can bring on October 2nd to deliver to IRC Denver.

Please DO NOT bring items to the church before the Dare2Care date of Oct 2nd.

landscaping

What: We have two families in need of home repair work. Each project requires a different level of skill and experience, Please check the descriptions for details.

Home Makeover #1: Family friendly ages 10 and up. This project will include gutter cleaning, weeding, and some other light yard work. Plan to bring gloves, rakes and other gardening tools.

Home Makeover #2: This will require experience with the use of power tools and working with wood. Volunteers will be helping to build large planters, digging and shoveling dirt, doing some planting, mulching and other landscaping. Please bring gloves and protective eyewear. Bring power tools; including drills and saws, if possible.

Where: We will meet in the Chapel at 8:30 am on Saturday, Oct 2nd for an orientation and prayer before heading out to site projects. Projects will run from approximately 9am – 12pm.

Bring:

Home Makeover#1 gloves, rakes and other gardening tools.

Home Makeover #2 gloves and protective eyewear. Bring power tools; including drills and saws, if possible.
