Caring for Refugees

By the end of the month, two thousand displaced Afghan refugees will arrive in Colorado. The church community has been presented with an opportunity from the state to help these refugees find places to live and adjust to their new lives.

Here are two practical ways you can help:

PURCHASE NEEDED ITEMS

You can purchase household items for families through an Amazon Wishlist that has been created.

All donations will go to set up new homes for approximately 2,000 Afghans arriving in Colorado. This project is a collaborative effort through the State of Colorado, the International Rescue Committee, Lutheran Family Services Rocky Mountains, African Community Center, Project Worthmore, Jewish Family Services, Mile High United Way, Just Serve, Team Rubicon, Volunteers of America, and AmeriCorps. Currently, our most urgent needs are cribs, pressure cookers, lamps, rugs, and vacuums.

PLEASE CHOOSE SALVATION ARMY–SAPA AS DELIVERY LOCATION.

HOUSING

Housing is a critical need and the State of Colorado is asking for people to open their rental properties, basement apartments, and Airbnbs for families to rent for 6-12 months.
